I help people develop authenticity, an increased sense of wellness, and presence to self and others. I guide them toward healthier coping skills to reduce emotional overwhelm, increased self-compassion, deep personal insight, and values-directed action that breaks previously-unconscious patterns informed by old wounds.
I am actively attuned and engaged with clients and am clinically integrative, drawing when appropriate from a range of approaches including Psychodynamic, Jungian, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Object Relations. I often assist people in deepening their personal insight through therapeutic dream work. While I am trained and experienced in Cognitive therapies, I thrive when using depth approaches, because I am passionate about guiding individuals toward new levels self-awareness. The therapeutic process often results in psychological maturation and improvements in inner life and relationships. Psychotherapy can go far beyond the soothing of mental health symptoms (depression, anxiety, PTSD, prolonged grief, etc.), it can also become a regular space for rigorous self-development. When open and committed, people find it greatly enriches their life.
I believe a good therapist should be in therapy with an experienced therapist. I live this, because it allows me to empathize with the people I guide through the therapeutic process. It aligns me with a belief that is core to my practice: the therapist can only take a person as deep as the therapist has gone themselves. It helps me appreciate, respect, and equalize inherent power dynamics, and it empowers the person within the boundaries of a safe, informed, and dynamic therapeutic relationship.
Very rarely does deep healing happen alone. Reach out to me if you would like to be companioned on your path toward deeper wellness.
